Flickr is a great way to display a gallery of examples to students in your classroom. As a librarian part of my job will be to help teachers from all content areas meet their own curricular goals by using the media center.  This gallery of cupcakes can be used to show the different techniques used by bakers when decorating their goods.  It would be a great addition to the Food and Nutrition class’s unit on baking and decorating.

This exploration of ideas would fit under the NETS-S Indicator 1:

“Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes
using technology. Students:
b. create original works as a means of personal or group expression
c. use models and simulations to explore complex systems and issues
d. identify trends and forecast possibilities”

This would be a great preview of the different styles and techniques that would be learned throughout the unit.
